Prehistoric palaces of Mandu in Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar area on Monday wowed past USA secretary of state Hillary Clinton. Ms. Clinton who was on a three-day-visit to MP on a personal trip was seen listening with enthralled notice the narration of the saga of the previous regal couple of Mandu, Baz Bahadur and Rani Rupamati, by a guide, whilst visiting their fort.
She was gracefully clad in relaxed wears. She looked totally absorbed though listening to tales of romances of the previous royal pair as stirring around the citadel. She afterward enjoyed boating in Narmada river and gazed at the world famed Maheswar saree being knit by the home weavers. The Maheshwar saree was encouraged by Queen Ahilya Bai of the former Holkar royal people to aid oppressed eke out a civilized living at the time. She afterward returned to Ahilya Fort, a legacy hotel, in Maheshwar.
Maheswar was center of former Holkar kingdom until January six, 1818. Malhar Rao Holkar 111 afterward shifted the center of their empire to Indore. Ms. Clinton was on the trip to MP on request of Richard Holkar, scion of the former Holkar royal relations. She was listed to head to Jodhpur in Rajasthan on Tuesday after winding up her MP trip.
